Pendant la semaine du Festival de Cannes, il n’y a pas un jour où je rate une émission du Grand Journal sur Canal Plus. Même lorsque je séjourne à l’étranger ! J’ai d’ailleurs initié tous mes copains à ce rituel que ce soit à Londres ou à Milan - oui je suis un despote. Je trouve cet événement glamourissime ! Ne parlons même pas du générique de fin avec la montée des marches. Au pays de la classe et de l’élégance, le baromètre est chaque année pulvérisé. Ouuuuiiiii Maman, je sais ! Elles ont le coach, le styliste, le coiffeur, la diététicienne, la maquilleuse, la gaine (toutes sans exception). Mais ne soyons pas de mauvaise foi. Ils et elles en jettent ! L’apogée a été atteinte il y a deux ans. En attendant de commencer mon master,  je bossais de temps en temps pour une agence d’hôtesses d’accueil à Monaco. Pendant le Festival de Cannes, De Grisogono (joaillier de luxe) organisait une soirée privée et mes copines et moi-même y avons travaillé. Attention, vente-de-rêve ! Jardins de l’Eden Roc à Antibes, thème Great Gatsby (sortie du film cette même semaine), orchestre classique revisitant des titres pops, Di Caprio, Alessandra Ambrosio, Bianca Balti, Sharon Stone, Alec Baldwin, Isabel Goulart, Jessica Hart, Toni Garn et j’en passe. Tous aussi bien sapés les uns que les autres et moi à l’entrée à les pointer un à un. God bless Cannes !

During the Cannes Film Festival, there is not one day where I would miss watching the “Grand Journal” on the Canal Plus channel. Even when I am abroad! I have actually converted all of my friends to this little habit of mine, from London to Milano – yes I am a despot. I just find this event so glamorous! And don’t get me started on the moment the celebrities go up the stairs, to the theme music of the year. In the kingdom of elegance and class, the bar is set a little higher each year. Yessss mom, I know! They have the coach, the stylist, the hairdresser, the dietician, the makeup artist, the girdle (all of them do). But let’s not be hatters, they do look amazing! Anyway, bear with me, I’m not done yet. The peak of this festival for me, was two years ago. Just before starting my masters degree, I came back to Monaco and was working for a hostess agency. During the Cannes Festival, de Grisogono (luxury jeweler) organized a private event, and my friends and I happened to be working for his event that night. Caution, dreamy description to come : Gardens of the Eden Roc, in Antibes, the theme was Great Gatsby (that would be released that same week), classical orchestra playing pop music, Di Caprio, Alessandra Ambrosio, Bianca Balti, Sharon Stone, Alec Baldwin, Iabel Goulart, Jessica Hart, Toni Garn, etc. All looking sharp and wonderful, and me at the entrance, checking them off the list one by one.
