Restaurant qui rentre directement dans la catégorie je-mange-bio-et-je-cultive-mes-propres-légumes-dans-mon-beau-potager. Mais attention ! C’est génial. Situé dans Amsterdam Est, De Kas a été fondé par un certain Gert Jan Hageman (étoile Michelin) qui a racheté une serre datant de 1926 avant que la municipalité ne la détruise. Une partie de la serre est aménagée en restaurant et l’autre partie est utilisée comme potager où fruits et légumes sont cultivés puis servis dans les assiettes. Le concept est vraiment sympa, la grande verrière apaise et tout est excellent. Je l’ai vécu sous une pluie torrentielle mais je suis sûre que par beau temps ça doit être encore plus beau. Vous me direz. N’oubliez pas de prendre votre pomme à la sortie. Cadeau de la maison !

It’s great. Located in the East part of Amsterdam, De Kas was founded by a certain Gert Jan Hageman (Michelin star) who bough the 90 year old greenhouse before the regional municipality got a chance to destroy it. The concept he put into place is actually great, the decoration well thought, it’s calm, authentic and everything is fresh / good. I experienced it under a poring rain, but I am sure that in fine weather it must be beautiful. You tell me. Grab an apple before leaving. Consider it as a goodie bag.
