DOUBLE CRUSH ! J’ai visité l’exposition « David Bowie Is » organisée en 2013 au Victoria & Albert Museum à Londres. Le musée fermant exceptionnellement ses portes à 22.00, je m’y étais rendue le soir avec peu de monde et assez de temps pour boire un verre de Pimp’s dans la cour intérieure du V&A. Magique ! Concernant la visite elle débute avec un casque audio et dès que vous avancez de la musique se déclenche en fonction de la pièce dans laquelle vous vous trouvez. Les costumes de Bowie sont sensationnels, son style artistique inégalable et son androgynie d’une élégance rare. Le plus impressionnant reste l’avant dernière salle aux plafonds gigantesques, recouverte d’écrans diffusant des morceaux de concert. Focalisez-vous sur la vidéo « Heroes » interprété par Bowie en hommage à New York (11/09)! Je crois que je suis restée (avec mon casque audio à fond) devant ces écrans géants 45 minutes ! Plus qu’un rendez-vous de fans, une plongée culturelle au cœur d’une avant-garde esthétique, sociale et musicale. Pour le bonheur des parisiens, cette rétrospective dédiée à David Bowie se tient du 3 mars au 31 mai au tout nouveau musée de la musique conçu par Jean Nouvel à la Villette. Foncez-y et mettez 50€ de côté pour vous offrir le livre d’exposition « David Bowie is INSIDE ». Il est top !

DOUBLE CRUSH ! I went to see the exhibit “David Bowie Is” in 2013, at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The museum had exceptionally closed at 10pm, so I went there in the evening when there were less people, but still enough time to have a glass of Pimp’s in the inside patio of the V&A. Incredible! Going back to the exhibit, it starts with an audio guide, and when you move forward, music plays automatically according to which room you are in. Bowie’s costumes are sensational, his artistic style is incomparable, and his androgynous looks of a rare elegance. The most impressive part takes place in the room before last, where the ceiling is the highest, and where screens cover the walls and replay epic concert moments of his. Focus on the video “Heroes“, in which Bowie pays a tribute to New-York (09/11). I think I stayed about 45 minutes in front of these screens (with the audio guide full blast). More than just a fan’s get together place, it’s really a deep dive into the heart of a cultural, aesthetic, social and musical avant-garde. Much to the Parisians’ delight, this retrospective dedicated to David Bowie will take place from March 3rd to May 31st at the brand new music museums designed by Jean Nouvel in la Villette. Go right away and put 50€ aside if you can to buy the book of the exhibit « David Bowie is INSIDE ». It’s great !
